Kia ora and hello, Today I was doing fractions on the computer. I was learning to:

1. To identify fractions with lines 
2. To identify fractions with circles
3. Fractional part of a group

I have tried to set a goal for when we do fractions, it is to at least get 15 right before I move on to a next stage. While I was doing my work I was taking some screenshots for you to look at and what it is about, so here they are:

Reflection on !!2017!!

We are looking at next year 2017. 

What am I looking forward to next year:

• New friends
• Year 6 camp
• New learning equipment
• using the chromebooks
• Meeting new kids that come to Gilberthorpe School 
• New learning inquiry
• Seeing what teachers will be here at Gilberthorpe School
• New School environment

I love being at Gilberthorpe School I am lucky I am staying here at Gilberthorpe School for one more year YAY. Can't wait.

Today in numeracy we were learning fractions as you can see. Evrey Thursday we work on fractions. This it the first time I have learned factions so I am a little confused I tryed my best. Here is some screenshot:

Kiwi can

Kiwi Can

Hi, so today I am going to talk to you about Kiwi Can. Every Wednesday Gilberthorpe School have Kiwi Can. Kiwi Can is a program when we have two leaders and they give us a theme and we talk about it, they also set games for us that relate to our theme and model. Our Kiwi Can leaders are Maia and Nate. They are awesome.

Mathletics

Today I am going to talk to  you about mathletics. So, mathletics is a site that is used for kids around the world to inprove their math levels.  In numaracy we go on mathletics when we have nothing to do and we have finished our work. Here is a screenshots of what things are in there.

Multiplication and division

Multiplication And Division Test

Today I did a multiplication and division test. It was really hard becasue I dont really now my multiplication and division really well. I tryed my best and got 40% it is still worth it. Here is a screenshot of my work:

I think next time I will I will go out of my comfort zone and try to get 100%. I really like the way I have tryed my best to get here. My next step is two solve problems like 25 dived by 5.

Prototec

Prototec Stage 5

Today in numeracy we were working on prototec. I went on stage 5 it took me 5 minutes and 21 seconds. I love working on prototec because it has actually helped me. Here is my screenshot:

I think I need to work on my grouping within 100 and my division. Next time I will try stage 6.

In Term 2 Gilberthorpe School went to the Marae  we also learnt to say or mihi's. Here is my mihi:

Jellie Park trip

In Term 2 Gilberthorpe School went to Jellie Park for our value play. We went to Jellie Park because Mr Wilkinson knew we all loved water.

 So far this  term and  last term we have been learning about healthy foods. After we learned about it Miss Waho went to New World and every $20 you spent you would get something to go in a little garden.

Sharing what we are doing this Term

This Term I am looking forward to learning more Maori and increasing the levels of maths and reading by the end of the Term, and then next year when I am a Year 6 I will be able to know what I need to know. 

Goals for this term:

1. To know my division and times tables.

2.To know lots of Maori.

3. To increase the number of books I read.
