Dream

Today Marc Ryan came to Gilberthorpe School and told us about his future of cyclist. We asked him some questions that we wanted to find out about him here are some facts about dream:

1. They called him dream because he always talked about cycling. 
2. He has earned meadles for NZ
3. He was 16 when he stat competing in the olympics.

Today I learnt about tolerance. I think that people around the world should care for one and another. We should also help other people in need . We can show tolerance anywhere.

Typing School

Today we did some typing on the computer we have been doing this for over 3 weeks here is another screenshot of how my progress has been going then after that i will tell you if I have reached my goals and my next goals.

I want to thank my teacher Miss Waho that has now teached me for three terms I also am lucky to have Miss Waho next year as well. Thank you Miss Waho.

Little garden

 New World Little Garden

For the last couple of weeks Miss Waho has been selecting things from New World. If you spent over $20 you would get things and this time it was gardening things. So on Monday Rimu class were doing some planting and we picked our own plant that we wanted to plant and we did there was enough for everyone to have one. Here is the instrutions to what we did:

#1 We got the cup with the plant we wanted to plant.

#2 We put the soil onto a white plastic plate.

#3 We watered it and mushed it with our hands.

#4 We then put some soil into the mini cup that came with it.

#5 We put the seeds that were in a white fluffy thing in the cup.

#6 We put the rest of the soil on the top of that. 

#7 we put in the little flag thing that told us what we planted.

#8 We put our names on the cup.

#9 We put them in the container that was sitting on the table. 

#10 We waited for them to grow

Today the senior hub did some building with a awesome lady called

Rachel. She brought her lego into our senior hub and shared it with us. Rimu class were after Rata and Tawa. Here is a slide about lego:

Tens 10 Make One Hundred

Today I was doing some maths and I finished my work and I had to do extension I had to make a slide to show someone else how to do this problem so this is my slide and if you have some feedback feel free to say down beklow in the comment box:

My next step is to make better progress when trying to share.

Keyboard skills

Typing Online

We are learning to type faster on our divices. Today the senior hub did 10 minites  on it to see if our typing has increased.

Handwriting.

Fine Motor Skills

Today Rimu class did some handwriting. Were are learing to make our letters the same height and the corriecion of the speling. 

My next step from me is to look at the corricun of the spelling. From my buudy her comment was bot to rush it.

We are learning to type quickly to see if it helps our learning in different curriculum areas.

This means that I can: type faster so that I can do things without looking at the keyboard.

I think my typing has helped me improve my writing I do not normally write heaps of writing and I have been writing lots.

My next step is to learn to type big words on the computer and not look at the keyboard.  

Empathy

                         Empathy 

Empathy is all about taking a walk in other peoples shoes and see how they are feeling. Another way of showing empathy is looking at their face and see what emotions come too your head.

Here is my slide about empathy, there is a roll play about two people showing empathy. I want you too have a look at the two people and think  about it. If you were them how would you be feeling.

Ski trip

Ski Trip Screencastify

Last week on Tuesday the senior hub of Gilberthorpe School went skiing at Mount Hutt, It was really fun. On Wednesday the day after the ski trip we had to make a recount of what we did and were we went we also had to screencastify our recount. Here is my recount screencastify I hope you like It.

I like this  piece of writing because this is a good example how to use adjectives, adverbs and verbs.

My next step is to: Use more language features like: Onomatopoeia and alliteration to make my writing a bit more interesting.
