Dissolving

 What are the ideas from today? 

- Dissolving 

What factors affect dissolving? 

- Surface, Mixing, and  Temperature 

Aim method and Results: 

Aim: To figure out the rate of dissolving depending on temperature and string.

Method: To get 50ml of water and a spatula of sugar, depending on what one we were doing. 1 2 3 4. We then put the sugar into the beaker of water, and timed how long it took to dissolve

These are the results from all groups, the number up the top is all the seconds combined, and the number below it. We thought that the Hot water, sugar, and string would be the fastest because of the hot water giving the sugar more energy to move and dissolve, we also thought the Coldwater, sugar, and no stiring  Would be the slowest because your not stirring it which is isn't getting around which then the cold water takes slower to dissolve the sugar. 

Tokelauan Language Week

 This week is Tokelauan Language Week. Today we created a DLO about some phrases used in Tokelauan Language. I created little flashcards to use o learn these phrases. 

Business & Enterprise Kete

For the past 3 weekes we have been involved in the B&E kete of 2020. 

My file in this has been the CEO, and my job was to make sure that the business we created was coming together, keeping all the other roles in place. 

Our company was called 'Spinkaholics LTD' 

Our product was a cake in a cup. 

My reflection  on how the business went overall is that our group did really well and end up selling out of our product. I also think that everyone in the group played their role in our buinessness really well, everything was done on time there was no mucking around and things moved fast! 

My reflection on the overall B&E is that is was a really good experience for the second year. I think it was a good day to get out of thee classroom and doing something new. 

Apple Sauce Muffins

 In cooking on Wednesday we made Apple sauce Muffins. Personally, I didn't really like any of the Apple Sauce Muffins because I left that they tasted bland and lumpy. The only flavour you could taste when eating the Muffins was they rolled oats. 

Each group made a substitution of the recipe and then did a survey of the ones we liked and disliked. 

To make it better, add more Apple, take out the oats, and add more cinnamon

Music - Final Task

Instrument Evaluation

1. What have you studied in music this term? 

- This term in music we have studied 3 instruments (Guitar, keyboard, Ukulele). In guitar were learning to play at least 3 chords. In Keyboard, we were learning to play left and right-hand melody, and final one ukulele, we were also learning to play 3 chords. 

2. Why instrument did you enjoy and why? 

-  The instrument I enjoyed the most was the keyboard, because it was more comfortable to play and it was also an instrument I would have never thought of playing. 

3. Which instrument did you find most challenging and why? 

- I found the guitar was most challenging, as it was hard to figure out where my fingers went on the neck of the guritar. 

4. Which instrument are you going to focus on for the rest of the term and why? What would you like to achieve? 

- I would like to carry on working on the keyboard, because I want to continue to learn new chords and play new songs. 

Thumbnail Sketch / Photomontage

Art

In art we have been working on creating a piece of art called a 'photomontage'. This type of art is using images t create a picture that has a meaning to it. For example the message could be about women's rights or that black lives matter, it's just another way of explaining something without using words.

When it came to creating our own piece of photomontage, I found it difficult to put my ideas together and create something that really had a meaning to it. I understood how it worked but I couldn't work out where to place images. 

Someone that gave the class a really good inspiration to her photomontage was HANNAH HOCH, she was a female artist who wanted women rights, and she used art to create that message, as no one cared about words that came out of a women's mouth.
