Home Economics

One of my tasks for cooking/Home Economics was to bake something to share on our blog. For this task, I made a banana cake. It was really easy to make as my auntie gave me the recipe she uses.

125g butter, softened
¾ cup of white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups mashed ripe bananas
1 teaspoon of baking Soda
2 tablespoon of hot milk
2 cups of flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

1.Preheat the oven to 180ºC.
2.Butter the inside of the cake tin.
3.Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5. Add the mashed banana and mix well.
6. Stir the baking soda into the hot milk
7. Add to creamed mixture. 8. Sift the dry ingredients together and fold through the creamed mixture.
9. Scoop the mixture into the prepared tin, level the top.
10. Bake for about 50 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched.
11. Leave in tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool.
12. When cold ice with chocolate Icing

Chocolate icing.
1 1/2 cups of icing sugar

  1. Jaz i love the way you have set everything out for your blog pictures so that people can see that. I also made a banana cake the other day, but mine did not have the chocolate icing. Did you get lots of positive feedback from your bubble?
