Technology

For the past few weeks in tech we have been working on our light bars. What these are is a bar with a led light inside of it. Firstly we had to make the bar of plastic to fit inside our light bars. Than we had to construct our bar for our light to sit on.

After that it's complete, I made my light bar for my mum! It had her name on it, with too love hearts.

Community Impact Projects

Today for community impact projects, we had kiwi kaha first 30 minutes for the rest of period 1, then we went out to the garden, then we had morning tea, after morning ted period 3 we did some more gardening out in the garden, a couple of us helped Mr Tisch plant some watermelon and corn, then I had a job to grab some water so we could water the plants. It took us ages to find a tap that worked! 

For period 4 we did blogging as a reflection for what we did today. 

Writing

Inspired Writing 

For writing we have been learning to increase the vocabulary in our writing. Our task was to get a picture and write our sentences using and describing what is happening in the picture. We had to then highlight what changes we made in each sentence. 

Here is the final sentence of my writing: 

1. The girl swam underwater. 
2. The girl swam under the deep blue sea. 
3. The girl swam under the deep blue sea like a human fish, holding a light as bright as a star. 
4. A girl swam under the deep blue marine, in the form of a fish, holding a light as bright as a star. Her surroundings made her feel lost. 
5. An interested  sea diving girl, swam under the deep blue marine, in the form of a fish, holding a light as bright as a star. Her surroundings made her feel extremely lost, Emily was very anxious. 

An interested sea diving girl, Emily swam under the deep blue marine, in the form of a dolphin, while holding a light as bright as a shriveled down star. Her surroundings confused her, they made her feel extremely lost. Emily was very anxious, but interested to see what was in front of her.

Now that my writing is complete we have to mark ourselves on the vocab rubric: I rate myself a R5, personally I think that I can think deeper and come out with something more creative, I also think that I can make it more interesting and better to read! 

Tecnology

Key Rings

In technology we have made our own key rings using tinker cad to create our designs. 

How we created these was set out a template,found a design we wanted and then inserted it onto the template,then made it a dxf and sent it to our teacher.

Community Impact Projects

Today for community Impact projects  we didn't do very much apart from pull weeds out of both areas (classroom & back garden).  in period 2 we had kiwi kaha we did 1 activity which was to walk aroudnd the classroom and trade cards to make the most money our team came third with $1150 dollars. During period 3 I had athletics training, we did shot put for the people who are doing shot put. I injured my shoulder throwing the 3kg shot put.

I'm looking forward to the Canterbury Athletics! The event's I'm taking part in are Discuss, shot put and 60m sprints.

Pizza box oven (science)

Pizza Box Oven

Materials: 

1.   Pizza box
2.   Tinfoil 
3.   Scissors 
4.   Black Plastic 
5.   Tape
6.   Ruler
7.  Cellotape
8.  Vivid 
9.  Glad wrap
10.  Sticks 

Steps:

1. Get a pizza box and cut a square, but making sure its a flap.   
2. Cover the flap in tin foil and put a square of glad wrap on the inside but not on the flap. 
3. Put a piece of black plastic in the pizza box on the flat area. 
4. Tape it all down so there are no pieces up. 
5. Put news paper on the edges of the sides of the pizza box.
6.
